Brazilian duo audiovisual band gives new meaning to the fight for environmental causes with courage and boldness in an unusual way
Strikingly Affect is an original Audio Visual Band project from São Paulo/Brazil composed of two members:
Gab Bassani head of the project, vocalist, performer, producer, vegan and environmental activist joins forces with
Mao Ambrosio, experimental guitarist, backing vocals, master of digital arts- motion designer / animation director,
also an activist defending humanitarian causes.
Gab's revolutionary mind and explosive voice, along with Mao's distorted notes, create a unique sensory experience.
The project is born from the urgency to act, express through art, take a stand and fight for your causes.
They released their first single "Drink My Honey" during the pandemic, resisting the chaos and expressing creativity as a form of resistance. The duo continues to challenge themselves, releasing the track "Mad Feeling Paradoxx" in December 2022, Ready Chaos 2023, Hybrid Conscious Machine released on 02/02/2024….
With an authentic style, they travel between aspects of Electro Punk Rock in an irreverent mix that needs no definitions due to the great distinctions in their compositions, always having as their trademark their striking boldness,
printed by beats, guitars, added to lyrics/manifestos of personas that give life the tracks.
A performative plot is woven that proposes an immersion in different universes.
Revolution is the constant beat of his songs, breaking patterns is the basis of his performances.
With the frenetic (explosive) combination of their activist poetics and visual identity signed and produced by them, they create the futuristic atmosphere of their costumes, sets, clips, using the upcycling concept
combined with technology, they transform waste into luxury, give new meaning, explore the theme of sustainability and counterculture inspired by one of the main aspects of the punk movement: DIY (Do It Yourself).
The duo has been venturing into authorial audiovisual projects since 2014, exploring music production from 2018 onwards, when they began their studies and experiments using Logic Pro,
where they found a new way to develop their artistic skills.
Most of the songs are created digitally in DAWS and are complemented by analogue resources: guitars, vocals with effects processors and loops, some of the beats come with improvised resources and objects,
and even sounds with the mouth. LOL
The desire to change the medium led them to combine passion and profession,
creating presentations in a pocket show format. Where they interpret the atmosphere of their released works,
as well as new songs in Portuguese and performance monologues that dissolve and contextualize their struggles.
They are currently preparing to play shows again, with the prospect of international presentations,
partnerships and releases.

In her original audiovisual project band, @strikingly.affect, she demonstrates limitless creativity, manifesting her passion for music and her ability to create performances that captivate and move the audience. With a restless mind, Gab transforms lucid dreams into rhythm and manifestos into song lyrics that reveal her deepest intentions. Her artistic creations vividly represent her thirst for revolution and her desire to challenge the mundane. She not only sings and composes her music but also develops costumes, sets, and exclusive upcycled pieces as tools to bring her urgencies to life, and she also creates, directs, and edits her music videos.

She also works behind the scenes as a producer, promoter, and project coordinator, always seeking to innovate and exceed expectations. Gab is a bold soul who does not settle for half-truths. About Mao Ambrosio

Mao Ambrosio, 45 years old, has been passionate about music since he was young, when he chose to interrupt his career at a large airline to pursue his dream in the world of music, joining a band recording studio and, later, in the technical area of dubbing videos.
His journey took him to the world of audiovisual, where he built a solid career as a Motion Designer. Sound and rhythm have always been his main influences,
shaping both his technical and artistic approach.
His interest in different disciplines led him to develop his skills. As an essential member of the band Strikingly Affect, he is responsible for creating Beats and experimental guitars, with a strong influence of industrial punk rock.
Furthermore, in his significant role in #visualconcept, Mao crosses boundaries between the imaginary and the visual, transforming @gab.bassani's abstract ideas into concrete visual expressions. Within the project, he has the freedom to develop his skills in an integral way, creating a fluid synergy between audio and visual, always keeping rhythm as the central essence of his creations.
